Our Local Area
We love our neighbourhood, so we wholeheartedly recommend that you head down early and make a day of it in Woolwich.
There are a host of brilliant restaurants, bars, pubs, and things to do in the area. If you need a point in the right direction, we’ve listed some of our favourites below.
Arrive in style
Did you know one of the easiest ways of getting to Woolwich is by boat? The fantastic Thames Clipper river boat service stops right next to us at Woolwich Arsenal pier.
Learn about local history
Charlton House & Gardens, and the home of our friends at Royal Greenwich Heritage Trust. One of the finest surviving Jacobean manor houses in the UK, 1607 and 1612. Entry is free of charge, and you can stroll through the beautiful historic rooms, corridors and staircases, as well as the stunning walled gardens and grounds.
Places to eat
Kailash Momo: a fantastic Nepalese restaurant on Woolwich New Road. We recommend booking as it’s a popular place and you really don't want to miss out!
ViB Bar: a Vietnamese restaurant on Beresford Square in Woolwich town centre. The specialty is their delicious bao buns, and they have a great little seated area outside if the weather’s looking promising.
Viet Baguette: Another great family-run Woolwich business, serving simple honest Vietnamese home cooking.
Con Gusto: Our neighbours, brothers Rigels and Bledi run this great Italian right on our door step.
The Farmers Market
If you happen to be planning a visit to Woolwich Works on the second or last Saturday of the month then the Royal Arsenal Farmers Market must be put on your list. held outside in Artillery Square, we can confidently say that the market showcases some of best street food and local produce in London. Not to be missed!
Grab a quick drink
The Taproom: our favourite place for a pint, created by the people behind Hop Stuff brewery. As well as stocking their own craft ales and lagers, they have monthly specials from other independent breweries around the UK. As if you needed any more convincing, they also serve pizzas to go with the drinks.
