About Us

Woolwich Works is a multi-disciplinary cultural hub on the Royal Arsenal in Woolwich. The landmark venue opened its doors in September 2021 and has recently been named London's ‘best new culture spot’ by Time Out. Our programme includes cutting-edge contemporary music, award-winning stand-up comedy, as well as theatre, dance, cabaret and everything in between.

From large-scale concerts, comedy nights and conferences in the Fireworks Factory to family shows in our studios, and intimate events in our ‘brilliant little venue in a big venue’, the Visitors’ Book Café – also open for coffee, drinks and food during the day.

‘The buildings are magnificent: big, uncluttered spaces… Perfect, in other words, for being used to make music, theatre and dance.’

The Times

‘Housed in five listed buildings, formerly belonging to the Royal Arsenal, Woolwich’s swanky new creative hub… has already transformed this Thameside former industrial site into a properly exciting place to be.’

Time Out

‘Bringing a wild, eclectic mix of excellent art to the Royal Borough of Greenwich.’

Evening Standard

‘Multi-purpose venue Woolwich Works… has already fulfilled its promise of becoming a melting pot of diverse, world-class culture.’

The South Londoner

Woolwich Creative District Trust, the independent registered charity established to run Woolwich Works, also has a commitment to community access, engagement and participation, providing facilities to improve the conditions of life of residents of the Royal Borough of Greenwich. Our Charitable Objectives determine the purpose of the Trust, which informs our overall mission: to offer hope and opportunity by enabling people to realise their creative potential.
