Congratulations if you're beginning your journey as a newly engaged couple!

While this is such an exciting time, it can also be somewhat overwhelming as friends and family start to ask if you’ve picked a date? What kind of wedding do you want? Will it be large and grand or small and intimate? What kind of venue?

First of all, take a breath to enjoy the moment of being recently engaged! And once you feel ready to get the ball rolling on planning, Woolwich Works would be delighted to be your wedding venue.

We are fully licenced for wedding ceremonies and can cater for any kind of celebration, from intimate ceremony-only events, receptions of all sizes, or a full-day event.

If you’re not sure if you want a period venue or a more modern style, Woolwich Works strikes the perfect balance between the two. Dating back to the 17th Century, ours is a building with a long and unique history. The interior has been lovingly restored to show off some of our wonderful period features, like the exposed brickwork and timber-beam ceilings seen throughout. We are also a building with a clean contemporary feel - our modern finishes mean you can enjoy the atmosphere of a period building safe in the knowledge that the facilities at your disposal are state of the art.

Each of our event spaces offers something unique. You could celebrate your day in the beautiful Knight Gallery, named after the iconic Adelaide and Donald Knight who's love story is one for the ages. There are huge, arched sash windows down the side of the room that look out onto the courtyard, which you would have direct access to. Here you can eat, drink and dance the night away! There’s also a private entrance from the riverside, perfect if any of your guests are arriving or departing by boat.

Or upstairs, Beanfeast offers stunning views across the River Thames, providing plenty of natural light for your photographer to catch one of the most important moments of your life in all its glory.

For larger weddings, choose the Fireworks Factory, a space that perfectly blends its history with contemporary architecture. If the wedding band is a big one, this state-of-the-art facility will showcase them in full with a dancefloor that feels unlimited – great for those guests who can’t wait to start showing off their moves (and we all know there’s always one who will not get off the floor!)

Every couple have their own ideas of what they want for their big day, and Woolwich Works is dynamic and adaptable enough to help create a one-of-a-kind event to cherish. Our dedicated Events team can talk you through all the different options available, including a fantastic list of trusted caterers, so that you your day will be perfect from start to finish.
