Carcazan Publishing presents Bringing together poetry open mic and spoken word poetry communities with music, food and fun!The MixTape Poetry Festival brings together London’s burgeoning open mic and spoken word poetry communities in an embrace of music, food, fun, dance, workshops and creativity. Open to all, it is run over five days, the main festival day taking place this year on Saturday 26 September 2026 at the epic Woolwich Works where some of the hottest performers, including you as open-mic participants, will take to the stage with special guests.
MTPF likes to encourage new voices and artists including in music, and we love to platform independent presses and stall-holders of creative enterprise or thoughtfulness - but especially food! With our happening resident DJ Mike Funk seeing us through the day, soak up the warm and supportive atmosphere. Whether you’re on a day out with the family, chilling with the vibes, are just curious or you want to have a go at what’s on offer, the festival tries to have something for everyone as everyone is welcome.
This festival is not just for poets, but all of us. Poetry is people!
FAQs
Can I bring children to The MixTape Poetry Festival?
Yes! All ages are welcome. If you are bringing somebody under the age of 7 years old then they can attend without a ticket, but they will need to be accompanied by an adult ticket holder. If you have a child 7 years old or over then they will need to have a ticket.
Are there group discounts available?
Yes. there is a "buy 4 for the price of 3" discount. When you order 4 tickets, the ticket with the lowest value will be automatically discounted to free at the checkout.
Will there be swearing or adult themes unsuitable for children?
Whilst we won't know the exact content of the poetry in advance, some content may include swearing and adult themes, but performers are usually sensitive and aware that this is a family event.
Are there concessions?
There are discounted tickets for students and Universal Credit recipients. Simply book the ticket and bring ID with you on the day.
Can I sign up to the Open Mic to book a spot?
Yes. Simply book your ticket and email info@carcazan.com with the order number on your e-ticket.
Can I bring my dog to The MixTape Poetry Festival
Yes, we are a dog-friendly venue and have a dog station in our cafe for doggie refreshments, as well as doggy ice cream for sale. If your dog wishes to join in during the Open Mic or cause a disturbance then you may be politely asked to take your dog outside. We welcome well-behaved dogs that are always kept on a lead.
