Hear about the fascinating story of Adelaide Knight from her grand-daughter and great-grandchildren.We are honoured to welcome to the Knight Gallery, descendants of Eliza Adelaide Knight and Donald Adolphus Brown EM, whose legacy is remembered at Woolwich Works.
Hear directly from great grandchildren about the fascinating history of Adelaide Knight, celebrated suffragette, campaigner for social justice and founding member of the Communist Party of Great Britain. Her husband, sailor Donald Adolphus Brown, was the son of a naval officer from the Caribbean, and has an incredible connection to the venue. Their portraits are permanently displayed on the exposed brick walls of the Knight Gallery, and during this special event you’ll hear from their family members directly, with the opportunity to ask questions!
