Join us for a community dance session at Woolwich Works, featuring Bulgarian-born, Woolwich-based choreographer & dance artist, Stephanie Handjiiska, this spring.

These sessions cater to individuals from all backgrounds; no prior dance experience is needed. Stephanie guides participants through a free dance session, offering thoughtfully structured instructions that build upon each other to inspire movement. Revel in the music's rhythm and let it drive your emotions and transformations.

There's no set choreography to memorize, no specific movements to repeat.

Dance in unison, fully present in the moment, connecting with the music, joy, and the sense of community.

Who is it for:
Adults aged 18 and above. Young people aged 15+ are welcome with a parent present and dancing.
No previous dance experience necessary.

What to bring:
Wear comfortable clothing. Dance in shoes, barefoot, or however you feel best. Just bring your best mood!

Accessibility:
The session can be conducted seated and is accessible for wheelchair users.

About the artist:
Stephanie Handjiiska is a Bulgarian dance artist based in London. Her work emphasizes movement, aesthetic appeal, and socially engaging themes. Through her art, she delves into topics like identity, immigration, belonging, femininity, and capitalism.

A proud alumnus of the London Contemporary Dance School, Stephanie's work has been showcased in forums such as Dance Umbrella, Resolution Festival, and ImPulsTanz in Vienna.

Her dance style is influenced by yoga, contemporary dance, varied emotions, release technique, and her signature "kitchen underwear dances."

Currently, Stephanie is researching Central & Eastern European identities for her project titled "Not a Crab, Not a Fish." She's also seeking volunteers from the CEE diaspora to discuss their experiences with migration & belonging in the UK.
