Development Manager
JobsJob Description
About this job
Woolwich Works continues to build its public programming, presenting a range of activities, embracing all artforms and types of events. Working across music, dance, comedy, food, workshops, talks, film, visual arts, children’s activities and more, we are developing a programme across boundaries.
The Trust doesn’t receive ongoing public subsidy, and so all income earned from commercial hires and ticketed events is used to run the organisation for the benefit of our community alongside grants, donations and sponsorship.
The Development Manager will work closely with the Director and Heads of Department to develop a fundraising strategy to support the Trust’s activities, holding responsibility for seeking opportunities from trusts and foundations, developing and managing corporate partnerships, and cultivating relationships with individual donors.
You will work closely with the Director and other members of the team to steward existing partnerships and develop them productively.
Is this job for you?
We’re looking for an experienced, ambitious fundraising professional. You’ll have ideally worked in an arts venue or an organisation of scale, with experience across all fundraising disciplines. If you have a strong background in fundraising for community activity, especially if there’s been participatory or arts element, then we’d also be interested in hearing from you.
You will possess strong interpersonal and communication skills to develop and steward relationships, write winning applications and compelling sponsorship pitches.
You’ll be highly motivated – able to work under your own steam and as part of the wider team, have an entrepreneurial spirit, and be resourceful at problem solving with your creative thinking. You will enjoy networking – representing the Trust and engaging with potential sponsors, donors and stakeholders, whilst being able to articulate our work and future potential, and be passionate about the vital contribution your success will make to the Trust’s overarching ambitions and objectives.
If you would like an informal conversation with Nick Williams, the Trust’s Director around the role and its potential, please send a short introductory note to DirectorOffice@Woolwich.Works to arrange a suitable time to speak.
