Development Manager
JobsJob Description
About this job
Woolwich Works continues to develop its programming, presenting a range of public activities, embracing all sorts of events and activities. The Trust doesn’t receive ongoing revenue funding or subsidy, and so all income made from commercial hire and ticketed events is used to run the organisation for the benefit of our community. The Development Manager will work closely with the Director and Heads of Department to develop a fundraising strategy to support the Trust’s activities, holding responsibility for seeking opportunities from trusts and foundations or via corporate partnerships, and cultivating relationships leading to individual donations.
You will work closely with the Director and other members of the team to research, secure, and develop high value partnerships, corporate memberships and appropriate grants, and steward existing partnerships and develop them accordingly.
Is this job for you?
We’re looking for an experienced fundraising professional. You’ll have worked in an arts venue previously, ideally working across all areas of fundraising with strong interpersonal skills to develop and steward relationships, writing winning applications and compelling sponsorship pitches.
You’ll appreciate the differences between a venue that exists to present others’ work and one that produces its own; be highly motivated, have an entrepreneurial spirit, and be resourceful at problem solving with your creative thinking. You will have a good understanding of how to develop partnerships and a willingness to write funding applications and proposals with good attention for detail. You will enjoy networking and engaging with potential sponsors and stakeholders, able to articulate the potential of our venues, and be passionate about the vital contribution your success will make to the Trust’s overarching ambitions and objectives.
You’ll also need to be comfortable managing conflicting demands and priorities, and developing the function into a highly effective fundraising force.
