Sprung from the pandemic, THE RE: is a collective presenting a night of different artists every 3 months, all with a love of beats, rhythms, harmonies, words and visuals.

This event showcases some of the best black-influenced music in London. It’s that simple. The idea is to replenish your mind and provide you with a go-to destination to see London-based creatives.

This inaugural event will include the likes of:

  • Emma-Jean Thackray, on the back of her critically-acclaimed debut album Yellow, will be bring her musical universe to THE RE: opening night.
  • Kwake Bass, AKA Giles Kwakeulati King-Ashong, the South London musical director for Sampha and Kae Tempest will be holding down the ship with his freestyle beats.
  • Saili Katebe, who often writes under the pen name The Blissful Nomad, will bring his spoken word. The Zambian-born writer and performer's eclectic word-style brings poetry slam-winning wordsmithery to the lineup.
  • Meanwhile London’s lady of the bass, Isobella Burnham, will take a b-line to another level fusing Carib freestyle with a beats sensibility of the highest order.

The whole night will be held together by the cosmic playing style of the urban keyboard bandleader and jazz renaissance man that is Ashley Henry.

Special guest Shabaka Hutchings will be bringing his Sax to help send the night into another dimension.
