A wonderful opportunity to see three of London's most exciting young singer-songwriters.
Don't miss these incredible talents share the stage as part of our Woolwich Words & Sounds season this July.
Fast-emerging British singer, songwriter and pianist Reuben James’ virtuoso jazz techniques and soulful, evocative voice have led him to be widely regarded as one of the most exciting artists to have emerged in recent years.
Although perhaps best known for his ongoing collaborations with Sam Smith, which have included co-writing songs for Smith’s multi-million-selling album The Thrill of It All, James has also written for and performed with an array of international stars including Joni Mitchell, Bonnie Raitt, Brandi Carlile, Herbie Hancock, John Legend, Tori Kelly, Little Mix, Disclosure and Liam Payne.
Reuben’s Sophmore EP ‘Slow Down’ landed to critical acclaim in 2020, with lead singles ‘My Line’ and ‘So Cool’ achieving radio plays across BBC Radio 1, BBC Radio 2 and Jazz FM. Reuben has since released his single ‘BBQ Energy’ followed by the star-studded collaboration ‘Tunnel Vision' with Tom Misch and featuring Frida Touray & Daley.
'Highly melodic, dense but beautifully sewn together. This is promising stuff... Positively soothing sounds in these troubled times.'
