Extraordinary Bodies: Delicate
Presented by Extraordinary Bodies The 'Revolutionary Circus' of Extraordinary Bodies is back with a new production!Four different bodies collide. A show about how things need to fall apart before they can fall into place.
Their lives are different, but one thing unites them: they’re frustrated with their bodies changing, ageing, breaking, no longer obeying. Outraged that they can’t override this. They climb, hang, balance, slide, collapse, hold and hug. They examine the marks life has left on their bodies. In the background, fragments of film and audio mirror these marks in the wounds inflicted on our planet.
Jamie Beddard’s voice as a writer cuts through the noise. He throws the expected out the window. Instead, he tells us raw, relatable stories about what it means to be delicate. Come and experience these characters as they implode, assess the damage, and maybe rebuild themselves. They’re fighting the grind of what’s expected. And you might feel inspired to do the same.
Don't miss this raw and relatable new circus show which combines circus skills with acrobatics, dance and ballet.
Delicate is BSL interpreted, audio described and captioned.
Delicate is a co-production by Extraordinary Bodies, Theatre Royal Plymouth and Figurteatret i Nordland (Nordland Visual Theatre).

Extraordinary Bodies is a vital collaboration between show-makers, Cirque Bijou, and Diverse City, a charity that champions diversity and equity in the performing arts.
Collectively, they create a unique and magical space where diverse bodies are embraced, boundaries are broken, and inclusivity is championed. Bringing together the skill and talent of D/deaf, disabled, and non-disabled artists, their work is testament to how diverse, extraordinary people can work equally together on and off stage.
